About CTS

Welcome to Cypress Tactical Solutions, where premier coaching and instruction for pistol, carbine rifle, and tactical considerations are provided. Our focus is to bring clients to a level of comfort and competence with firearms and tactics in a way that they will be able to better utilize both in time of need.

Cypress Tactical Solutions was started by an experienced law enforcement officer who recognized the growing need for citizens to be able to defend themselves. The first line of defense for each individual, and their family, is themselves. “When seconds count, police are minutes away” is a saying that has been proven time and time again. Just buying a firearm and shooting it a couple of times will not prepare anyone to handle an emergency when it presents itself. Cypress Tactical Solutions can help shooters of any level grow in their capabilities to be better prepared when the unexpected happens.

Cypress Tactical Solutions believes that proper preparation and practice are the cornerstones of success when self-defense with firearms is required. Whether you're a professional looking to enhance your operational readiness, a citizen with no experience with firearms, or anyone in between, our goal is to provide you with the coaching you need to grow progressively.

Teaching Philosophy

Safe, relative, and defense-driven. CTS’s teaching philosophy centers around safe coaching that is fluid to the client's needs regarding self-defense with a firearm. Starting from education and fundamentals and going up to dynamic stress-induced training, CTS will bring an environment that will best help others according to where they are at in their journey.

What We Offer

  • Education: In-person consultations to help educate citizens about firearms, firearms safety, and considerations with carrying and using firearms. These sessions can be done in-home regardless of firearm ownership. It’s a good place to start before jumping in without knowing what to get!

  • Coaching on the Range: CTS offers one of the most experienced firearms coaches in the Low Country. Please see Instructor Bio.

  • Personalized Planning: Tailored advice to give you an understanding of what steps you can take after a session to continue your progression.

  • Measured Defensive Training: CTS will provide you with measurements of your capabilities for you to see how much, and how quickly, you’re improving. You’ll be surprised at how well you can do with continued effort!

  • Options in Instruction: Do you want one-on-one training? Do you want group training with friends and family? Or do you want to jump into a class? CTS has options and can instruct a wide array of skills to various size audiences.

  • Post Shooting Protocol: Learn what you should immediately do if you find yourself having just used a firearm for self-defense.

  • Agency Training: CTS offers training for professionals as well. Law Enforcement classes can be provided to enhance personnel in the areas of handgun, M4 / AR rifle, and tactics as well as range instructor development. Please see Agency Training.
